Why Digital Gurus was voted one of the best companies to work for

We are so proud that The Sunday Times awarded Digital Gurus a two-star accreditation for being one of the best companies to work for, we have worked hard to achieve the company culture we have now and are maintaining this every day.

One of the key indicators of a great company, is the length of service that the staff give – and with the average Guru sticking around for 2 and a half years, we’re confident we’re doing something right.

So, what exactly do we do differently? In amongst our office celebrations (including several world record attempts, monthly lunch clubs and a beer or two), we caught up with a few of the team and asked them what it's like being part of the Digital Gurus family at the centre of tech scene recruitment. Here’s what they had to say:

Ellie Smith | Tech Tribe

“What do I find most rewarding about my job? For me it's probably helping people, I come from a psychology background so helping people has always been important to me and something that I've always wanted to do within my career. I think that's missed a lot of the time recruitment. I think we get tarnished for being selfish and doing it for ourselves but the most important thing is helping people, whether that's candidates or clients. Toni (Managing Director of Digital Gurus) came to my university to do a talk - I originally had no idea what I wanted to do after university but after I'd heard Toni speaking about Digital Gurus I went for an assessment day and I got a really great vibe from the office. I think with a job, when you know, you know and I got that feeling straight away!”

Zeta Jhanji | Health Tribe

“There’s so many opportunities and growth plans here at Digital Gurus - it's such a good brand and they do things really well.  I definitely see so much opportunity for myself to grow here. I've been able to discover a passion and lead the Women in Health Tech Series project - I am founder and host and I absolutely love it. There's so many good things that have came from the events and I've met so many new people. The WITWednesday (Women In Tech Wednesday) helps provide a community and a different soundboard for these amazing women on a different platform."

Jay Guney | Tech and Creative Tribe's Associate Director

“I am Associate Director here at Digital Gurus and I look after the Tech and Creative Tribes. I decided to join DG because essentially, I was bored with contingent perm recruitment which is what I was doing previously and I thought, there must be something different to this? I had heard rumours of large companies offering a variety of solutions - so I approached DG and knew it was for me. I am so proud of the growth in our people over the last 3 years, there's no denying it that we have achieved so much in that time. A highlight for me was seeing everyone hit their PB's last year, it made me really proud!”

Tim Burrows | Infinite Tribe

“Recruitment is very fast paced - the way I stay motivated is by setting myself some achievable daily goals and objectives and making sure I am planning the next day's goals before I finish for the day. It's not for everyone but you have to be patient with it and take your time and work hard to succeed. It's been great to be part of Infinite | Digital Gurus over the last year and especially throughout the pandemic, we were still working, as supply chain and logistics doesn't stop! So it was great to be recruiting for roles during the pandemic period where people needed opportunities - it was nice to help people.”

Blake Thompson | Tech Tribe

“The reason I decided to join Digital Gurus was because it has a really great name in the market and as a previous competitor, you hear about how well they treat their people internally, clients say really good things about them and I thought, I kind of want to be part of that! I already knew Jay (Associate Director), which was quite lucky - so it was a case of myself and Jay chatting at the right time and I thought you know what, these guys are where I want to be and I have absolutely no regrets - I am loving it here!"

We are looking for hardworking, commercial people with heaps of ambition and passion to join the DG family. Here at DG, we hire people, not clones, and we take pride in the fact that everyone is different – we are a business of diverse personalities!

If you want to join the DG team, do get in touch. We are looking for experienced recruiters and we can’t wait to hear from you!
