THE ROLE: As an adept Scala developer, you’ll be joining a world-class software development team that utilises cutting edge technology to build apps serving not only customers in Europe but now in the US too! You’ll be involved in various projects using Scala following microservice architecture, deployed in containers in the cloud via Docker, Kubernetes and AWS, with messaging services such as Kafka playing a critical role.

LOCATION: Isleworth, fully remote till September then it’s 2 days in the office (you’ll be on a campus that has everything you need at a discount)

SALARY: £80,000 - £90,000 + free TV package, generous pension, private healthcare, discounted mobile/broadband and a wide range of VIP rewards & experiences

YOUR DAY TO DAY:

  • Develop high performing apps with minimal errors using microservice architecture to then deploy onto the cloud.
  • Determine non-functional requirements and write NFTs
  • Play an active role in identifying customer requirements and assisting QAs and key stakeholders to ensure these are met.
  • Ensure that the best solutions and technologies are being used to complete daily tasks.
  • Assist with production issues and release management when needed.

SKILLS YOU NEED:

  • Extensive experience in Scala as well as Docker, Kubernetes & AWS.
  • Website/system development experience, building them to be high capacity, high traffic and high availability.
  • Highly competent following TDD and delivering agile projects.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering practices including: design patterns, unit testing, automated build and test systems for CI/CD.
